Devoting Our Time to God

“If thou turn away thy foot from  the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on My holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honorable; and shalt honor Him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:

Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.”
Isaiah 58:13-14 KJV

God wants us to give Him the time that He has ordained to be His. God gives us seven days, in which one of them should be set aside as holy unto Him. Let us put away the excuses about how we’ve got so much to do. If it weren’t for God you wouldn’t be here anyway. Are you turning away from all the things you want to do, and devoting time to God?  If we are devoting that day of rest to the Lord, He says we then will delight ourselves in Him. He also tells us that He will cause us to ride upon the high places. We all could stand to be able to ride upon the high places. Nothing we have going on is more important than having that time devoted to God. He truly honors the time we give Him. Think about all the time He’s given us. The least we can do is give back to God a day.
