For the Lord thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand: He knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the Lord thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.

Deuteronomy 2:7 KJV

Much like the Israelites, God will continue to bless His people that repent. The Israelites had not believed like they should have; they disobeyed God’s commands. How often have we done the same thing? The word tells us that God knew they were walking in the wilderness. He knows where your walking today. He knows what your struggling with today. He is still with you. We must repent and draw close to God. He is still right here with us, wanting to help us.

The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing.

 

Proverbs 20:4 KJV

Whatever a man sows, is what that man will reap. It takes preparation and work to prepare a seed bed. You have to work at it. This passage tells us that the lazy person will not plow because of the cold. We can always come up with excuses, but we must not do so. The scripture is clear, He that doesn’t work towards the harvest will have nothing come harvest time. This applies to our physical life and our spiritual life. We must work here on earth to store up treasure in heaven. Though we know that we are not saved by our works, our works are evidence of a true conversion. Don’t make excuses. Plow and prepare a seed bed in preparation for the harvest. If we don’t work, they’ll be nothing to eat.

And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through Thy name.

And He said unto them, “I beheld satan as lightning fall from heaven.

Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.”

Luke 10:17-20, KJV

Jesus teaches the disciples a valuable lesson that we must learn as well. It is a great thing that even the demons are subject to us through the name of Jesus. But we must be careful to not get hung up on that. We should rejoice in the fact that we have been forgiven of our sins and redeemed. It is an amazing thing to see and experience the power in the name of Jesus. But Jesus decided to make this point to help prevent pride in the ministry.

Jesus said, “Rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”

Keep praying and casting out devils in Jesus name, but rejoice in the greatest fact of all. That your name is written in the Lambs book of life.

We must believe that if satan tried to tempt Jesus, he sure will try to tempt us. 

And as he comes to try to tempt us, we must know how to combat the temptation. What did Jesus do? With every attack that satan brought at Jesus, He countered it by the truth of God’s word. When satan comes at you, use the tool that God has given you. The sword of the Spirit, the word of God. Whatever satan comes at you with, counter it with for it is written. God has given us a word of defense for every attack. We need to be more familiar with the word. Just as a soldier would be familiar with his sword. A soldier knows what part of that sword is best utilized for a certain task. Know the word of God and use it to combat the attacks and temptation satan brings against you.

Although this was directed to Israel, it still applies to us today as we are God’s people to.

This is a recipe for revival.

Many today are waiting for God to bring revival to this land. Problem is, God is waiting on us to do the very things He has set forth to be done in order to have revival.

He said, “If My people which are called by My name will, humble themselves.” To be humble means to not be prideful or arrogant. He also said that we must pray. We can’t pray enough. Then He said to seek His face. To seek the face of the Lord means to seek to know Him more. We often seek the Lord for provision or needs. But we must draw closer to God, to try to get to know Him in a closer way.

We are also told to turn from our wicked ways. This means turn(Repent), from anything wicked. Turn from anything that God wouldn’t like. If God doesn’t like it, you shouldn’t like it either. When we apply these things to our lives we will see change. He tells us that He will hear from heaven and forgive our sin and heal this land. We need the both. We need sins to be forgiven. We need this land to be healed. Apply these truths to your life and let’s watch God bring revival.

Paul rejoices at the fact that his letter had led the Corinthians to feel sorry, but not just sorry. But sorry or grieved to the point of repentance. That was the purpose in the letter. We today need to think about this. Does the same letters lead us to being grieved to the point of repentance. That’s the purpose in God’s word. It is to guide us, empower us, and convict us. The trouble today is, there’s not enough of repentance. There’s a lot of sorrowful, “I didn’t mean to do it. I won’t do it ever again.” But then, it’s done time and time again. When we are grieved by our actions, we must take heed to the feeling that we get. See, the Holy Spirit lives within us. When we are grieved by our actions, the Holy Spirit is grieved. We then feel conviction. When we feel conviction, don’t just mumble about how you won’t do this again. Repent! Turn from the sin and turn to God for help. And don’t go back to the sin! Don’t keep on with a binge and purge cycle. Beg and plead with God to deliver you from whatever grip the devil has on you. And yes, that’s correct, if this is an ongoing thing. The devil has a stronghold on you. But by the power and authority in Jesus name it can and will be broken, when you let your sorry,  lead you to true repentance. When, and until you truly repent is when you will be delivered.

So many today want their name written on things. On signs, on the back window of the car and so on. What we must focus on though, is that our names are written in the Lamb’s book of life. The word is clear, none who defileth. None that worketh abomination. None who worketh a lie. Only those who’s names are written in the Lamb’s book of life will make it. There’s a way to make certain your name is in the book before it’s to late. Make sure you have repented of sins in your life. Turn from the sin, and turn to God for help. Make certain that you truly believe that Jesus died to save you from your sins, and that He arose on the third day that you may live free from sins grip.

Where’s your name written?

On signs is nice, business cards is nice, but where it matters the most is in the Lambs book of life.

Just as it was that day, when the intercession and praise to God wanes, the power of God doesn’t seem to be so evident. God was supplying the victory for Joshua and his men as long as Moses’ hands were up in intercession. It was a declaration that they can’t do it without God. When his hands were up, they prevailed, when they grew tired and came down, the opponent prevailed. We must recognized first that just because we’re not on the front line in battle, we still have a very important place in the battle. These men, Moses, Aaron, and Hur had a very important role. Think about Aaron and Hur holding this man’s hands up until the victory was one. There are many men and women today that have held their hands up a long time and they’ve gotten tired. We must look around and see these signs. We must humble ourselves and get under these individuals and hold up their arms. God has been honoring their intercession and praise, and we need to keep it going no matter what in order to achieve the victory in the battles that lie ahead. 

God wants us to give Him the time that He has ordained to be His. God gives us seven days, in which one of them should be set aside as holy unto Him. Let us put away the excuses about how we’ve got so much to do. If it weren’t for God you wouldn’t be here anyway. Are you turning away from all the things you want to do, and devoting time to God?  If we are devoting that day of rest to the Lord, He says we then will delight ourselves in Him. He also tells us that He will cause us to ride upon the high places. We all could stand to be able to ride upon the high places. Nothing we have going on is more important than having that time devoted to God. He truly honors the time we give Him. Think about all the time He’s given us. The least we can do is give back to God a day.

The prophet Jeremiah had been enduring some hardships. But God lets him know that this was just a small taste of things to come.

Maybe you have been experiencing things similar to what Jeremiah experienced. We just have to stir up our faith. Believe this, if you have felt like you’ve been burnt with a match or two, it’s only to prepare you for the blow torch that may be coming. God knows what each of us needs to prepare us for things to come. God will never let you be unprepared. The things your dealing with today are preparing you for the things to come. Keep believing God has a plan.
